Art for Heart’s Sake
Read the text and answer the questions and write your opinion.
The text is about a rich man who has had some fails and unsuccessful operations during his life. That’s why he has suffered his heart attack and needs a doctor’s care. The doctor wants to help him to forget all the fails and to start a new life. The doctor advises him to practice with art, to paint some pictures. They invite a young boy to teach the man how to draw. Some times later the man draws a picture, which is very horrible. He tells everyone that he wants to take part in a competition, but no one likes that idea. But the man does everything to take part in that competition and wins 1000$. That is a surprise for everyone. But then the man tells that he has bought that gallery and that’s why he has won in that competition. I think that the main idea of this text is that the man doesn’t want to change his life, he likes to achieve everything with money. He doesn’t want to work harder and the money is the easiest way to achieve his goals.
